The Turkish flag is the Turkish Republic’s official flag which represents an important sign of national unity, made of the color red and centered star and crescent.
The Turkish flag is called “the red flag” and in the “Turkish National Anthem” it is often referred to as “Alsancak” (the banner).

History of the Turkish flag

Turkey’s flag is an evolution of the 1844 flag of the Ottoman Empire. In the Turkish flag the origin of the crescent and the star come from the dream of Empire builder Osman Gazi.
